It's Sunday morning, the sun is shinning, the birds are singing and my dogs just want to play.  I do too and will shortly but first the necessities of life, laundry, breakfast dishes, and a shower!  OK, the shower will wait until after I play with the dogs, and laundry is done so I have clean clothes for work.  Oh my, I almost forgot about work.  Although it is Sunday I will be going into 'work' shortly to welcome all who come to create a smile, a memory, or a gift and enjoy the day as if I was out in the sun.

My business partner, Tina, is in vacation right now and I am 'working' everyday until she returns.  For some, 9 days straight of working may be a tedious struggle but when I see the faces of our customers as they create and then pick up their finished pieces; the smiles, the glow in the eyes of the children and their pride is creating a treasure makes it all worth every second, minute, hour, day that I am at 'work'.

Today I will smile a while, play in clay, and laugh a lot!

Sizzling Summer Art Sessions

Wow, the first week of our 'Clay Basics' for young artists was a huge success!  When having our end of session 'rap' the  BIGGEST complaint was that the class was too short.  All of the young artists wanted the class time to be longer.  Something we will have to discuss for next year.  Meanwhile, they now face the hardest part of the class--waiting for their clay pieces to dry.  Clay dries slowly, and waiting is hard but they can come in and check them out anytime. Soon we will be able to 'bisque' fire all of their wonderful creations from slab plates, to wheel thrown bowls.  At which time the youngsters will come in to glaze their work, we will then re fire the projects and have them ready to go home.

Come check out the wonderful creativity of our young artists, and sign up yours for some summer fun rain or shine! We have 2 sessions of 'Clay Basics' left with some space available, call or come in and reserve your artist's spot today.  Check us out on Face Book for pictures.  See you soon.

Summer Art Classes

Summer Art Classes are a great way to learn new techniques, enjoy being creative first thing in the morning and still have the whole afternoon to play in the sun!  Each class session offers something special, bisque painting techniques, glass fusing or wet clay experiences.  Stop in to the studio for more information or email us.  Remember there is a little artist in each of us waiting to be discovered!
